At Mayfield House we offer open visiting times but request if family or friends wish to visit in the late evening, it would be helpful to let staff know due to security reasons.
Please let the person in charge know if you are out for the day and when we can expect you back so that we may have the appropriate meal waiting for you on your return.

All personal clothing that is machine washable is laundered on the premises. Dry cleaning must be sent to the dry cleaners at your own expense. Please ensure all clothing is labelled with your name.

At Mayfield House we use several practises in the Crewe area, if you are registered with a GP in the area then you may remain with them. If you are from out of the area then please ask a member of staff to arrange registration with a local GP.

On admission to the home a senior member of staff will ask certain questions in order to help us look after the residents needs. From these questions a plan of care will be written to assist the staff to help you with your problems. These plans remain confidential but you may have access to these reports if you wish to view them.

There is a payphone located in the main lounge for the residents convenience. Telephone points are available in all bedrooms, so if you would like to make a call in private, please ask a member of staff to take the telephone to your room.
If you wish to have your own telephone installed in your room this can be arranged with BT.

The hairdresser is available on request. Residents or families can ask a member of staff to book an appointment for you. Prices on request.

Newspapers at Mayfield Residential Care Home
We have a daily newspaper delivery service. Newspapers and magazines can be ordered in advance. There is no charge for this service.

There is also provision for making drinks and snacks for yourself or your family at the end of the main lounge if you require and assistance please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.
The daily menu is displayed on the residents notice board located in the corridor near the main reception. There is a choice offered but special diets can be arranged at your request. It may be helpful to speak with the cook Nancy Owens to discuss your dietary requirements.

Home Resident
Following an enquiry from a prospective resident, relative or social worker we suggest a preliminary informal visit to Mayfield House. This visit should if possible include the prospective resident himself or herself accompanied by any other interested party, e.g. relative, friend or social worker.
During the visit the prospective resident and accompanying parties will be shown around the home including their potential room. They will be introduced to other residents and invited to take refreshments in order to take in the atmosphere and get the feel of the home.
All parties are encouraged to ask questions regarding all aspects of life at Mayfield House at any stage of the visit. We will be pleased to assist with any information that may help with your decision to move to Mayfield House.
If you are unable to visit Mayfield House in person, you may refer a family member or friend to call on your behalf.
Once the decision to move to the home has been made and all parties are in agreement,
admission papers will be completed prior admission. This is for a short or long stay.
These papers form the contract between the resident and Mayfield House and include
a six week-
A contract setting out our terms of residence will be given to the resident prior to moving to the home, together with a copy of our residents handbook, aims and objectives, complaints procedure, risk and restraint and other information literature.
